Noticeable in some local Facebook footage / pics ( not the carefully curated TV clips) was all the clappers standing outside their terraced houses, grinning at their virtue... but householders way less than 2 metres apart. Like a street party.
Stupid. Wankers. At least some of you have likely made it worse. If you cannot obey a simple instruction...

My sister said that someone let off a firework.in her street and they all clapped. Apparently two nurses on her road.
I hope the racket didn't wake the angels up if they were trying to sleep after / before a ridiculous shift.
I clapped as did my daughter. I hope my toes will uncurl of their own accord before too long and will not require medical attention.

Family member is a doctor in a A and E hospital, they caught the virus and started to self isolate At home, was then called in to work due to staffing, as they said how many people did they infect back at work.

Forget thanking them, what they need is the correct protective equipment. I manage a care setting and the carers who come into my tennents have fuck all face masks or proper gloves and they go from house to house. It's fucking scary

I would say a massive thanks to the doctors and nurses, but the admin staff, eg, accountants, HR, departmental executives,secretary’s are not exactly saving lives, but at the end just see who gets all the money and gongs.

Kind of funny how this token gesture has been ramped up just when our beloved Government has abdicated all responsibilities and fucked off for their hols after introducing martial law tier emergency plans.
Everyone knows the only way to reward the NHS staff would be through their pay but that won't happen, so have a clap today from your doorstep to compensate for that.
Ooooh I see some Netflix movies about contagions I must watch, gotta watch em all.

I'm neither left wing, or right wing, or rather I'm both, depending on the subject at hand.
When it comes to the NHS, I make Karl Marx look like Ronald Reagan.
Pay all the tax necessary to keep the NHS up and running in good shape. It's truly something to be proud of.
The staff are heroes and deserve the pay of Goldman and Sachs' CEO.
